Exam Results Update
TU Dublin Students' Union's mission statement is clear: we serve and represent students. This responsibility means speaking up and advocating for transparent solutions, especially during times of need.
From registrations to exams, there have been significant challenges resulting in poor student experience across the board. To further exacerbate this, it was communicated that exam results would be delayed by a further week.
From January, we were in weekly communication with the University staff overseeing Exams. As many of you were aware, the original release date of exams was set to be no later than the first week of March. This was to align with the typical timeframe of release of results and adaptation to a newly combined process.
While we appreciate the communication and efforts that the University have gone to in keeping us in the loop. We would like to acknowledge the delay in disclosing the pushback on exam results.
As a continuing student, this doesn’t just affect student experience but academic, too. Not knowing where you stand in terms of academic achievement is truly a terrifying situation to be in, especially where grades are needed for placements or internships.
We have called upon the University once, and we are calling on them again.
We ask that:
- A timeline should be produced for when phased Exam results will begin. This should not be vague but an expected timeframe.
- Students should be kept in the loop consistently and transparently. This is to ensure that expectations can be properly managed.
Students should be given academic assurance and certainty so they can go through the rest of the semester knowing where they stand.
This has been a message from
