Student Leap Card

1. Revised ELIGIBILITY for Child 16-18 Leap Card

If you are aged 16 to 18 years of age you are eligible for a Child 16-18 Leap Card (personalised) which offers child fares on public transport. Please ensure you are applying for the right card to meet your needs before making your application at www.leapcard.ie. Applicants can apply from 2 weeks prior to their 16th birthday online. Those aged 16 to 18 can also apply for the Student Leap Card, see Eligibility for Student Leap Card (below).

2. Revised ELIGIBILITY for Young Adult 19-25 Leap Card

If you are aged 19 to 25 years of age you are eligible for a Young Adult Card (personalised) which offers Young Adult/Student fares on public transport. Please ensure you are applying for the right card to meet your needs before making your application at www.leapcard.ie. 

3. Revised ELIGIBILITY for Student Leap Card (SLC)

All 16-18 year olds, and 26 year olds and over, in full-time third level education, including further education and training, are entitled to apply for the Student Leap Card (SLC). 

  • Please note that Leap Cards can only be printed on our Grangegorman Campus. however this does not mean that if you are on any other campus that you can not avail of this service.  Please visit our dedicated Student Advice & Advocacy Advisor who will retrieve your Leap Card reference number from you and ensure your order is processed. Please allow for a couple of days for us to retrieve your order, print your card and ensure it is delivered to your campus. You will be notified once your leap card is ready for collection from your local Students' Union Office.

Guidelines

  • Students must have a minimum of 16 hours of lectures/class time per week and be enrolled in the course for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Full time foreign students who meet the above criteria are also entitled to apply for the SLC whilst in Ireland.
  • Students enrolled as trainee Accountants (ACCA, Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland), trainee Solicitors registered with the Law Society, full time Further Education and Training (FET) trainees/students and full time PLC students are also considered eligible.
  • Students of on-line courses are not eligible to apply for the SLC, unless they meet the criteria set out here.
  • Students may be required to produce further evidence of eligibility (i.e. letter from college/institution), upon request by SLC or an agent of SLC.

Pool Tables

Pool Tables & Table Tennis

Enjoy a game of pool for just 1 euro per game at your local Students' Union common room. The SU has all the equipment you need, including cues and chalk – all you need is your valid student card. And if table tennis is more your speed, good news: it's free! Available in Grangegorman only. If something is missing or broken, call by your local Students' Union office to grab everything you need to get your game on.

While currently available at select campuses, it's TU Dublin Students Union (SU)’s top priority this year to expand this service university-wide. The SU is committed to enhancing your student experience by ensuring access to the latest gaming consoles on every site.
