TU Dublin SU Charity of the Year 2025–26
Each year, TU Dublin Students Union (SU) proudly selects a different charity partner through a vote by the TU Dublin SU Student Council. This democratic process allows our student body to choose the cause that resonates most with them.
Once the charity partner is chosen, the SU is dedicated to organising a variety of RAG (Raise Awareness & Give) fundraising events and activities throughout the year, aiming to raise substantial funds and awareness for our partner. From fun runs and bake sales to charity concerts and raffles, the SU strives to engage the entire university community in fundraising efforts.
For the 2025–26 academic year, we are honoured to announce our new charity partner: Saoirse Domestic Violence Services.

About Saoirse Domestic Violence Services
Who They Are
Since opening their first Women’s Refuge in Tallaght in 2006, Saoirse Domestic Violence Services has grown into a vital support system for communities across South Dublin and West Wicklow. Today, their team of around 70 qualified and experienced staff works with over 500 families every year, offering personalised care planning on a journey of empowerment, hope, and recovery.
What They Do
Saoirse provides emergency accommodation and specialised support services to women and children fleeing domestic violence. But their work goes far beyond crisis response.
They are deeply committed to:
Community education and awareness-raising to challenge harmful perceptions of domestic violence,
Prevention-focused outreach, and
Campaigning for social and legislative change to ensure Ireland addresses domestic violence with urgency and compassion.
RAG Fundraising: Get Involved
Throughout the year, the SU will host RAG (Raise Awareness & Give) events to raise vital funds and awareness for Saoirse’s work. From bake sales, fun runs, and workshops to charity gigs and awareness campaigns, there are many ways you can help make a real difference.. Stay updated on our efforts and get involved by following us on Instagram at @tudublinsu.

Together, We Can Stand Against Domestic Violence
By supporting Saoirse, we are standing with survivors, amplifying their voices, and helping to build a safer, more compassionate society. Every student action big or small has the power to help.
