Inauguration 2026/27
Yesterday, June 9th 2026, TU Dublin Students’ Union proudly hosted the Inauguration Ceremony of its newly elected Full-Time and Part-Time Officer Team for the 2026–27 academic year in the historic and beautiful St Laurence’s Church on TU Dublin’s Grangegorman Campus.
The special occasion brought together students, friends, family members, loved ones, Students’ Union staff, university colleagues, and key stakeholders from across the TU Dublin community to celebrate both the achievements of the outgoing team and the beginning of a new chapter in student representation.
Among those in attendance were Chair of the TU Dublin Students’ Union Board, Frank Crummy; Chair of the Electoral Commission, Kelly Rennick; outgoing and incoming Chairs of Student Council, Graham Hayes and Cat O’Driscoll; members of the TU Dublin Leadership Team; and President of TU Dublin, Deirdre Lillis.
More than an inauguration, the ceremony served as an opportunity to reflect on the significant contributions of the outgoing Students’ Union team. Through a series of inspiring and heartfelt speeches, outgoing officers reflected on their experiences in office, highlighted key achievements, shared lessons learned, and expressed their gratitude to the many internal and external stakeholders whose support and collaboration helped advance the student experience throughout their term.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening came from outgoing Students’ Union President, Naomi Sebastine, whose moving address reflected on the challenges faced by students during the past year. Naomi spoke proudly of the work undertaken by the Students’ Union to advocate for students and improve their overall university experience, while acknowledging the collective efforts of officers, staff, and partners who contributed to that progress.
In a symbolic and emotional handover, Naomi formally passed the responsibility and privilege of leadership to incoming Students’ Union President, Mina Eusebio. Delivering the final speech of the evening, Mina outlined a clear vision for the year ahead, reaffirming their commitment to representing the student body and ensuring that the voices, concerns, and aspirations of students across Technological University Dublin remain at the forefront of decision-making.
Mina emphasised the importance of accountability, advocacy, and partnership, pledging to work tirelessly alongside the newly elected officer team to fulfil their mandate and deliver meaningful outcomes for students throughout the 2026–27 academic year.

The atmosphere throughout the evening was one of optimism, pride, and shared purpose. The strong attendance from senior university leadership and staff underscored the enduring partnership between TU Dublin and TU Dublin Students’ Union, reflecting a mutual commitment to enhancing the student experience and supporting student success.
As the newly elected team begins its term, the inauguration served as a powerful reminder of the vital role student representation plays within the university community. With a driven, passionate, and committed team taking office, TU Dublin Students’ Union looks forward to continuing its work in partnership with students, staff, and stakeholders to ensure every student voice is heard and valued.
